India’s Shweta Sehrawat stood out as the highest run-scorer during the tournament with 297 runs. Additionally, Maggie Clark of Australia built an impressive bowling achievement with 12 wickets and was named the best bowler of the tournament. The prestigious tournament also recognized England Captain Grace Scrivens as Player of the Tournament. Scrivens was also the second highest run scorer in the tournament with 293 runs.

The inaugural edition of the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup will begin on January 14 with UAE taking on Scotland and Australia playing Bangladesh. Team India will take on hosts South Africa in the opening match of the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup on the same day at Willowmoore Park in Benoni. Previously, the tournament was scheduled to take place in January 2021 before being postponed to December 2021. However, it had to be postponed further due to the pandemic. After lengthy discussions between the ICC and other cricket boards, ICC CEO Geoff Allardice has finally confirmed that the event will take place in early 2023.

A total of 16 teams, including 11 full ICC members and 5 associated countries, will compete against each other. They were divided into four groups. As the group stage will use a single round-robin format, each team will play three matches in that stage. Then, the top three teams from each group will advance to the next stage – the Super Six Round.
Women’s U19 Cricket World Cup 2023 Winner
The 12 teams that qualify will be divided into two groups with six members each. The top two teams from both groups will advance to the knockout stage. The semi-finals will take place on January 27 and the winners will face each other in the final match on January 29 at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom.
The ICC U19 Women’s World Cup will consist of 41 matches which will be played at various venues in South Africa.
The Indian U19 women’s team looks positive to take home the coveted trophy in the first edition going by their recent form. They have registered wins in their last three matches against the Proteas. The Shafali Verma-led unit has been placed in Group D where they will face South Africa, UAE and Scotland in the group stage.
All the matches of the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup will be telecast on Star Sports Network in India. Live streaming will also be available on the Disney+ Hotstar mobile app and website.
